NATCOM Hosts Acting CTO Secretary General

The Chairman of the National Telecommunications Commission(NATCOM) Dr. Prince Alex Harding together with the Senior Management  of the Commission comprising the Director-General and his Deputy has on the 1st May 2019 welcomed the Acting Secretary-General of  the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO), Gisa Fuatia Purcell  and the organization’s Event Planner Robert Hayman, at the prestigious Pearl Hotel Lumley Beach, Freetown.

The CTO delegation is currently in Sierra Lone in preparation for the Commonwealth ICT Forum 2019 which will be hosted in Freetown slated for 30th July to 1st August 2019 on the Theme “Promoting the development of ICT Application for social-economic development”.

 The Chairman, NATCOM, thanked the delegation for choosing Sierra Leone as venue for the upcoming CTO Conference and described the country as a fertile land for doing business.

The Secretary General of CTO described Sierra Leone as ‘Home’ likened it to her native Samoa Island which she said shares great semblance to Sierra Leone.  She thanked the management of Commission and the CEOs of Orange and Africell who were also   present at the welcome dinner.

In the course of many friendly exchanges between the delegation and Management of the Commissions, the Director General, Maxwell Massaquoi and his Deputy Daniel Kaitibi expressed their desire to see CTO channel some of their developmental programs to Sierra Leone.

In a separate but related development, the delegation also met with representatives from MNOs and internet service Providers on the 2nd May 2019 at Commission’s HQ to get their inputs on some of the topics that (MNOs)  they will be interested to see  among the selected issues that will be discussed during course the conference.
